Set them free effortlessly and wirelessly. The Eye-Fi Card is a wireless SD memory card for your digital camera. It stores pictures like a standard SD memory card, but also uses your home Wi-Fi network to automatically transfer images from inside your camera to your PC or Mac and to your favorite photo or social networking website for sharing or printing. No cables, no cradles, no fuss. This is pretty cool, not that I would ever use it, im not in the water that much anyways, but none the less its a cool gadget. If your an avid surfer you can surf the internet with this surfboard via the online wi-fi enabled computer built in it! gives new meaning to ‘Hang-Ten” Dude!  This motorized replica of the headstrong little “droid” from the “Star Wars®” films responds to voice commands, navigates rooms and hallways, and makes any home feel like it has been transported to a galaxy far, far away. R2 obeys more than 40 voice commands (”Turn around!” “Move forward two units!”) and he plays games like tag, using an infra-red sensor to search for people in a room. His sensor helps him follow behind you, or it can be set to detect motion, turning R2 into a room sentry that sounds an alarm when a secured area is invaded. R2’s lights, swiveling dome top, and distinctive happy and sad sounds faithfully mimic the real thing, right down to his occasional “bad mood.” (A simple command of, “R2, behave yourself!” snaps him out of it.) R2 can also replay sounds and dialog from “Star Wars” movies, answer yes-or-no questions, and dance while playing the famed cantina music. The Voice-Activated R2-D2.® Posted in February 18th, 2008Yaskawa Electric has developed a robot for carrying passengers and luggage called RoboPorter and has appeared in Kita Kyushu airport in the south-west of Japan. 3D Display System for Mobile Devices

February 14th, 2008

NTT DoCoMo has developed a 3D display system for mobile phones and other devices, known as high-density directional images display – that endows the object with very smooth and natural appearing motion as the observer’s position changes (motion parallax) without the need for 3D glasses. The viewer moves around the static display, the transition from one image to the next is so smooth and imperceptible that the viewer has the illusion of moving around a 3D object.A built-in camera senses the position of the viewer (the angle from which the viewer is observing the display), and automatically adjusts to that viewing angle in real time to maintain the 3D effect. The 3D display is a high-definition liquid-crystal display to which a lenticular sheet has been attached, the latter essentially being a ribbed panel consisting of dozens of optical-grade cylindrical lenses arrayed in parallel vertical lines. The cylindrical lenses exhibit the 3D effect when viewed from a horizontal perspective, and diffuse light in the manner of ordinary glass when viewed from a vertical perspective.

Social Sites+Entrecard+Sitehoppin+Powerdropping=10,000 hits a day on 1 week old site!

February 13th, 2008

Web technology plus people and networks are increasing the hits on this website dramatically. I have had this site for 1 week now and using these networks I have increased my page views, however the bounce rate has been high but that is ok cause some of my affiliate links are getting clicked more however I wish there were more conversions. My RSS readers are up probably cause of Entrecard cause I have been dropping of my business card to technology, science, and gadget sites. This is how I have been getting all these hits to my site. Max over at Sitehoppin has a web 2.5 site where you can hop sites and rate the sites and the higher the rating the more your site gets seen plus drop your business card. max site is a little over 1 month old and is now getting 600,000 hits a day. Walt over at Powerdropping has a site where you can hop sites using the firefox browser that has a plug in where it opens sites very quickly to drop your web business card. Now this business card for the web was developed by Graham over at Entrecard where you can display your card to other websites of interest by dropping it of at their sites and buying an ad spot with entrecard credits on their site that of course displays your card. I also use social network which I included links to at the bottom of each post that these posts can be submitted too and they all bring me in Quality traffic that is increasing my page views. Below in order of the pictures I will show you web shots of these sites plus my Commission Junction Stats for today so far and my Alexa stats as the site has only been up for one week there are not much stats. Sorry for the bad shots as to fit in this post.

Bionic Contact Lenses

February 12th, 2008

Engineers at the University of Washington have for the first time used manufacturing techniques at microscopic scales to combine a flexible, biologically safe contact lens with an imprinted electronic circuit and lights. There are many possible uses for virtual displays. Drivers or pilots could see a vehicle’s speed projected onto the windshield. Video-game companies could use the contact lenses to completely immerse players in a virtual world without restricting their range of motion. And for communications, people on the go could surf the Internet on a midair virtual display screen that only they would be able to see.

Classic Rock band uses digital broadcast of Alien drum player

February 12th, 2008

Element 115 originally formed in 1995 as an all original act in the Phoenix area. Personnel changes occurred shortly after forming, and the new group quickly recognized that the audience was most responsive (and got up and danced) when the classic-rock tunes they loved were played. This newer line-up appreciated that response and began focusing on writing tracks which used the best aspects of the genre (harmony guitars, harmony vocals, tasty keyboard licks, meaningful lyrics, etc.)

Over the years, the position of drummer seemed to be the hardest to keep in place, and the search for an extraordinary beat keeper ensued. While listening to some signals from a SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) program, the guitar player discovered an intelligent message coming from space. Tracking that signal to its source, AL, a being from a world 40 light-years from Earth, was found to be the originator of that message. AL had been listening to Earths radio signals for some time and heard some rock music from the 70s and 80s. He was immediately motivated to create a drum set and start playing along. He sent a message back to Earth hoping one of these bands would hear him and let him join. Naturally, AL got the position of drummer with the band, and the line-up of Element 115 was solidified. Using a tachyon-beam technology from his home world, AL plays with the Earthers of the band wherever they entertain.

Molar Tooth Cell Phone

February 11th, 2008

This is a little older technology but I wanted to post on it cause a friend and I were talking how small cell phones could get. Royal College of Art students in London invented a phone that fits inside your tooth. The  device picks up signals with a radio receiver and uses a tiny vibrating plate to convey them as sound along the jawbone to a person’s ear.

Sidewinder Omni Directional Lift Truck

February 7th, 2008

Omni-Directional Technology allows unprecedented maneuverability in tight spaces. It allows the operator to maneuver materials through even the most limited of spaces. Productivity in pick and place operations soars because a lot less time is spent backing up. Warehouse storage density can be increased due to the minimal space requirement between pallets and aisles. Imagine attempting to move a 20 foot beam through a doorway with a conventional lift truck. With the SIDEWINDER, the operator simply and easily moves sideways through the doorway or down long narrow aisle ways.

Heated Floor Mat

February 3rd, 2008

Since it is winter and cold outside I figured this was a cool gadget to post on. The Heated Entrance and Work Mat provides safer footing during snowy winter months by melting snow and slush for pennies a day. Additionally, they provide radiant heat in entrances and vestibules, helping reduce heating costs while providing warmth and helping to dry the floor. They also work very well as work mats for working in the garage during winter months and other areas where people must stand on cold floors.Heated Floor Mat
